Even a Ruby (considered to be the most expensive gemstone after the pink diamond) is a heavy drowning weight to those who do not recognize its value.  They will and can see a gemstone.... as a millstone. (And perhaps, to them that be fools, it is...)

.... But that does not change the identity of the Ruby....
