First of all, I don't agree with all of the standardized testing. I don't think states, governments, school boards, and sometimes even administration know what they're doing in making new lists of skills--Basic Competencies, Portfolios, NCLB, CCSS. When I was in the middle school classroom, this was my approach as well, and it worked wonderfully. So many teachers today are being driven from doing what they know is right and true and good for the kids. Thank you for speaking up. teri
