CHARACTERS: Heihachi, anyone who wants to join SUMMARY: Who but Heihachi would make his first action in an unfamiliar place examining the machinery? PLACE: Outside the lifts TIME: Mid-morning WARNINGS: None
Washu decided to take a walk, she'd been busy for days trying to rebuild the tools the center had stolen from her, with considerably less parts than she'd had before, since she was out of money. She saw the new arrival crouched by the newspaper machine, poking at the machinery, and walked over, tapping a jury-rigged screwdriver against the machine to attract his attention and then offering it. "They fine you for trying to dismantle machines, by the way. I tried it when I got here."
"Hello," Heihachi said with a smile as he looked up, took the screwdriver gratefully and continued his examination of the machine.
"I'm not going to dismantle it," he added, finally locating a panel on the side and undoing a screw on the top corner. "I just want to look. I haven't seen anything like this before and I might be able to learn some new things."
He grinned up at her as he swiftly undid the final screw and eased the panel off. "Who are 'they', anyway?"
"I would love to know the answer to that question." Washu replied, looking at what he was doing. "But I've never seen then, and they rarely, if ever, answer questions. They have some capricious rules."
"My name is Washu." She said smiling, "Who are you? What world are you from? We're all from different worlds here, or times."
He turned with a small bow. "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Hayashida Heihachi. I'm a samurai," he told her with a grin, and returned to his work, prising up a circuit board to examine the underside.
"I see." He peered at the neat tracks of the circuits, a look of great fascination spreading across his face. "They certainly seem to have a lot of interesting things. Do you think they'd be willing to trade any of these mechanisms for anything?"
