See I think your complaint #2 is a reasonable suggestion because it would help with the traffic to get everyone around, so I'll take that as such.
Thanks for the input and please mention this to other folks. I know there were a lot of people passing through here prior to CFTC but I think most folks have gone back to their own journals.
Suggestions: 1. Skills challenge should be on time and/or in the morning. Being on the beach in mid-day is wonderful, only if you can get into the water to cool down.
2. Having both the game and skills in the same city is more convienent to the many travelers who come to CFTC.
3. The host hotel should be completely free of renovations in the future. That way, customers can experience the full benefit of their money.
Complaints:
1. There should have been more security measures at Roney. No one was checking room keys, and both the lobby and elevators were packed with young teens until the early hours of the morning, waiting to catch a glimpse of the celebrities. Also, there were many people using our pool when they themselves had not paid to be there.
[and I realize some of my complaints are the same as joeysdramaqueen, but she's right!]
Actually on top of everything else it probably would have been more trouble and aggrivation to have to check room keys or something for security in the Roney. As often as I passed through the lobby or waited for elevators, I must have been elsewhere when all the teens were there.
Not sure how to address this complaint because it's not really something in CFTC's control but on the other hand, it's probably something they should have been aware of. It's definitely something that the Roney should have been aware of and should be brought to the attention of future sites.
I think they should at least try to check room keys upon entrance of the hotel. That way, there's not as many lurkers when the paying customers try to get from place to place. For the most part, I think people from our group were satisfied just seeing them hanging around us, not having to follow their every move.
Query:Is it 'to date' from last years event or 'to date' from when the whole thing started? 'Cause 4 million seems like a really small amount for six events...
And for Saturday...when we found out that the thing didn't start until 3, we didn't bother to leave the hotel until after 2...but an awning or cheaper water or someone to walk around and sell in the stands would have been nice.
I've noticed in past years that the check always reads "to date" but I'm with you, from what date do they start the calculations? If anyone can help with that info it would be great.
I haven't found a single person yet who hasn't suggested that it be moved from Miami! Glad you mentioned #1 & #2. I didn't go to any of the parties but I agree, anyone who's paid for a ticket to get in should have the same access to any part that would normally be considered the "public areas" of the club, including the seats and dance floors. The idea of a schedule of events for the weekend is a great idea. Maybe on line prior to and a schedule posted in the host hotel during? I'm sure the volunteers have made similar requests for themselves but that has still left the spectators wondering. Great idea!
As for #3, I agree opening the gates 1 1/2 hours early may have been overkill but with the Skills Challenge scheduled to start at 3pm, I'm sure they were planning it for people to have time to pick up merchandise/water and get to their seats. No one in the planning stage could have known that Chris wouldn't make it down from the hotel until 3:30.
I am a returning volunteer as well (Merch Team), so I can't really add too much from the "spectator" side, but I can pass this link around to my friends, and ask them to offer their thoughts for you. I know they would have a lot to say, especially if they knew it would be heard. :-)

This is a great idea... It's nice to hear how the "spectators" feel about things. I guess I've just been on the other side of it for too long, because I didn't even think about some of those things being a problem.
Yes please pass this around! The more info, the better.
You guys at merch had a great set up this year! The stadium cushions were a great idea for the beach but by far my favorite has always been the bears. I was quite pleased to see the shopping bags this year as we had a devil of time keeping those bears out of the sand last year.
The bags were a great help this year. We didn't have nearly as many on hand last year so our supply ran out quickly, but this year we had enough to last well into the basketball game which was wonderful. And I agree about the bears, they're my favorite too! ;-)
1. The skills challenge should be somewhere more enjoyable. After sitting in the hot sun with no water because people with limited budgets can only afford so much $2 water, I just wanted the skills challenge to be over so I could go inside. I've been to challenges where both events were inside a venue like the Office Depot Center, and where it's not as scenic, it was much more enjoyable. Even the celebrities seemed affected by the heat.
2. Please give correct starting times. Sitting around for 2 hours waiting for the event to start is extremely annoying.
3. Have the event in the same venue/location both days. Otherwise, it is extremely difficult for those without a car.
The second most common complaint (after please don't have it in Miami again) is the start time/location of the skills challenge. I have to agree, it was much more comfortable all the way around to have the Skills Challenge and the Game in the same venue and the same time each day.
