A friend in India who's into sports cars recently saw a picture of something low-slung and clearly trying to look sporty on the street in the U.S. He asked what it was. You've articulated a phenomenon that I've long noticed in India; first, to conform with everyone, people will buy a Maruti 800, then paint it and primp it and put fake fur on the seats and add assorted ridiculous-looking stuff, so that their car will stand out in the crowd!

And oh, it's nothing to do with performance....it's to do with looks, vanity, status...thanks for the most delightful example.

Yesterday you made me photograph a Rolls Royce, but I'm going to keep looking for these delights instead and send you and amoghavarsha the photographs, they are FAR more fun!
