{{hugs}} You certainly have not had an easy time of it lately :(
It really really sucks to be fired--even when it was a crappy job that sucked, it still stings to get fired :\ Really messes with your head! I may still be a little bitter at my firing two years ago by my old craptastic boss, even though I know it had more to do with economics than with me personally.
Just keep reminding yourself that sometimes the crap in our lives is just making way for something better--it may not come as quickly as we'd like but there comes a time when you think "I am glad x-bad-thing happened because it made today's joy possible" ;)
I heard on NPR not too long ago that a lot of families are "doubling up" to get by, and that if it weren't for that, there'd be a lot more people living in poverty. Why are you thinking of moving back in with the in-laws? Why do you think it doesn't save much money?
oops i responded below, sorry~ and yes i have heard that people are doing a lot of people moving in with parents, having their parents ditch their house and move into inlaw quarters w/ a child etc.
Glad to hear things are at least going well at your mom's place. Neither of us expected to end up where we are but I think we'll both look back on this and be glad that we spent this time around family.
And I also believe the more down and out you feel, the more opportunity there is for positive change. I saw this happen when I felt like a loser in Grad. School and ended up going on an adventure and when I felt like a loser in Miami but ended up in a better situation in Kansas.
