So I've never been much of one for Easter. Sure I like getting candy, who doesn't, but these days it's more of a holiday for my sisters, I just get an obligatory basket with some colored eggs that have jelly beans in it, and a chocolate rabbit that Jordan usually ends up stealing anyway ( Read more... )

It's a holiday where I'm from. Some Sunday in April. It's based in religion, but marketing, like everything else, has taken over and it's become about colored eggs, bunnies, and candy.

Yeah, it is kinda fun. [She shrugs] It's more a little kids thing though. I used to go on Easter Egg adventures in my back yard, looking for plastic colored eggs with candy in them. Good times and all.

Huh. Eggs are more of an Easter thing though. I think there's some pagan witchy thing about reproduction during Easter as well. so that's what the bunnies and eggs are about. [She shrugs. Easter was never her thing, and they'd never been a church going family.]

I guess the eggs are kinda cool though. There's the mystery of 'oooohh what's inside'.

Eggs are fertility symbols. Same with rabbits. S'all a carryover from the old Pagan stuff, like you said.
