This story is so very true; you have these complicated relationships in your life and sometimes they come to something and sometimes they don't but they continue to have this profound effect on your life even years later. Also, (I know it's totally wrong, but) I laughed at
"that's [exactly] what she said," LOL. Help me.

Great story. Please write more Jack/Liz, even if it's unresolved like this one. Sigh.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I like unresolved Jack/Liz. I will probably post more sometime soon-ish, if I can get what I have to stop sucking.

Oh you heartbreaker. That last line just makes me go 'SUCK IT AVERY'.

Honestly, I don't know how they can have any significant other who can understand that he/she will have a relationship close to what Jack and Liz have with each other. But that's probably shipper blindness on my part.

I really do want them to have a drinking session on the show soon.

Heheh, oh Avery. We would all be happy if you died. Or went away. Whichever.

They are awfully close... hopefully it stays that way. Theoretically, I think they could balance a marriage to someone else with their friendship. I'd imagine Carol doing better with it than Avery, though.

Me toooo, I miss the drinking.

WOW, this is canon now, for me at least. That Jack actually had those feelings for Lemon once but never acted on them, deliberately got over them out of fear and self-preservation. You captured this very well, that on-the-brink feeling, that just-short-of-truth rapport they have.

I found this interesting and so sad to read.

Aww, thanks. It's canon in my head (some weeks, anyway) that Jack was into her for the first two, two and a half seasons, so I'm glad you agree. I refuse to explain Baldwin's ~gazing~ in any other way!
