Is anyone still out there?

My grades have been finalized and I've passed all my classes including my dissertation! I'll officially have my master's degree after the graduation ceremony on Dec. 15th. Still haven't decided if I'm going to go or not, we'll see.

Spent all weekend chilling with friends - Fri. K-Licious and husband, Sat. K-Licious, B-Side and friends, and Sun. El Jefe.  Then yesterday I ran around changing money and dealing with practical things.  But my sleeping schedule still isn't quite back on track yet, so my friends all got to watch me pass out on their couches, and I missed dinner ( Read more... )

Well I made it back to Brew City safe and sound.  I went through US immigration in Dublin before the flight, and as soon as I got through they made an announcement asking people to join the staff in a moment of silence for the victims of 9/11, which was really nice except for the one jackass on his phone.  Since immigration was already taken care ( Read more... )

1. The world is full of different languages, but assholery and friendliness translate universally.
2. Hard times and distance will tell you who you can count on and who you can't - and the list of the former will probably be shorter than you thought.

It took me four hours and a few anxiety-inducing glitches, but four hours after arriving at the printing place, my dissertation is printed, bound, and submitted.  Library books have been returned also.  I am officially done with grad school!

I'll be ecstatic later, right now I'm too tired.

I've been very nocturnal lately, working all through the night and sleeping from morning to afternoon or so.  So I set myself a goal to finish by 8am this morning, and by gosh I finished at 9:20.  Most amazing thing ever, especially considering all the technical horrors I had to endure in the process.  It's still very rough and needs a lot of work ( Read more... )
