Should have skied
After yesterdays rain storm, we expected the snow to be miserable and went hiking instead of skiing. My parents and I went to a small mountain, Pitcher Mountain, on the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway in south western NH. Everything looked according to plan until ten miles out from the trail head. Virginia visit
This weekend, Isaac and I traveled to Virginia for a friend's wedding. Because of the timing of the wedding and available flights, we arrived midday Saturday and did not depart until Monday evening. In between, I had plenty of time to visit with my parents ( Read more... ) -
Winter is here
On Friday, Tyson and I went to a Christmas concert by Nowell Sing We Clear. I have a tape of a performance of theirs in the 70's. I find the difference between their style now and then a little jarring. The performance was still fun. They play every year in the same locations, so the audience knows them well. New sensors
One thing that prevents us from flying longer trips is weather. So, to fix that, Tyson is studying up for his instrument rating and we are upgrading the instruments in the Bearhawk so it is IFR equipped. Eventually we want to completely upgrade the panel to all digital, LCD screens. But, for now we calculated that if we just add a few backup ( Read more... ) -
Thanksgiving
We had Thanksgiving for Tyson's family at our house. They all live nearby and we rotate whose house gets used for holiday events. Luckily, everyone else likes cooking food, so we just had to provide a clean house and a few side dishes. Isaac found all the company quite entertaining and would not go to bed. Applesauce
I was not going to make applesauce this year because I did not have time. September went by, October went by. Come November, I was down to my last few jars of applesauce, and I just could not take it. Surviving a whole year on store bought applesauce was too unpalatable. Busy
I haven't been posting much because I have been busy. I keep meaning to post our full Utah trip, but I want to get photos uploaded first. We have not been doing anything that interesting to keep us so busy. Some of it is fall cleanup chores like cutting and stacking firewood.
