apples are good for your gums... but i can see how they'd hurt to bite into/

well here's the thing. it tasted like a pretty good ringer for apple pie. but knowing that it was cracker and not apple made it a bit weird to eat.

top 5 (in no particular order, subject to change):
- durian
- mango
- watermelon
- pineapple
- pear

i like your list. a lot.
as of a couple weeks ago, pears became one of my top fruits.
i really love berries too.

but i'm really liking seeing pineapple, mango and watermelon on here. so sweet.
i have no idea what durian is though!

it's pretty hard to do these top fruits lists, i find, especially if you like berries. you can't really put all berries under one heading, but if you don't, my top 5 would be spoken for in a heartbeat. that's not fair to all the fruit i love.

anyway, i probably sound like a huge nerd and am gonna stop being so fruity.

ha ha ha ha, "all kemp talks about his produce".

Anyway, have you tried Cameo apples? Pink Lady? I quite enjoy them, and believe me, I fucking puke at the taste of a mealy apple. Yuck. Ick. Bleck. I find Pink Lady's to be excellently crisp and with a very nice pink hue. They're not shiny on the outside either, which means they don't taste waxy.

Highly recommended.

Cameo, I don't believe I have tried.
Pink Lady is good, and I LOVE that it's pink, but I dunno.... I'm weary. It's been a while. I'm scared of apples I can't for sure trust. Granny Smith is my long-term SO. What else do you know about the Pink Lady? You should try the Braeburn... It is easily the crunchiest crisp I've ever tried... But apparently it can't be grown organically because it can't resist disease that way... Which troubles me.
Opinions on the Royal Gala?

I also enjoy Fuji apples.

ok kemp and i are discussing this post right now, and kemp wants to know why you are even buying apples right now when it is nectarine season and peach and strawberry season is also beginning. apple season doesn't really start til early fall, he wants you to know that.

I know I know.
But you should tell Kemp that I really love apples, and need to eat them year-round and if he can't sympathize with that (which he obviously can, but he's being a fruitist right now, which I'll add is VERY in-season)...
Strawberries are in season now. Here in O Valley anyhow. The seasons are getting pushed up!
Nectarines... Meh. Last "in-season" nectarine I had was bitter as hell.

CAN'T WAIT FOR NIAGARA PEACHES THOUGH!!!
EEEE!!! WE CAN ALL MAKE PEACH REDUCTIONS AND PEACH PUREES AND PEACH TEAS!

I hate fruit, BUT the only apple I can even cope with is Golden Delicious. I've never had a smooshy issue there.

I occasionally don't mind the Golden Delicious. It's a nice looking apple, with a tantalizing name that I love, but... Sometimes, I've had a smoosh issue there. So... I still have to say: Granny Smith or bust.
