My initial impression: she's as flashy and exciting as a hot, dumb chick you meet in a bar. But then you wake up the next morning and see the smeared make-up and clothes that look trashy in daylight, and you realize she's as fake and fun as a two-bit whore.

I love music!
And I love making awesome music even more!! Tonight is our choir's performance of the Brahms Requiem, and we're singing with the local symphony - ie, paid, professionals. I had friends over for dinner tonight and it was lovely to see M and all the rest. I don't know what I would have done without them these past few months. Overall, despite having a bit of a cold, the day was quite nice. I love this show. I can't believe how much religious subtext has shown up. I am *so relieved* that the final season has started out so well, because I'm sure it's going to be great. I just wish my best lost friend didn't live on the West Coast!!

what a year can do for self-confidence
A year ago, my choir director forced me to sing a psalm in church. By myself. In front of the the whole congregation at Vigil Mass. At my very first rehearsal, I was shaking so much he called me a "Jill-tree." happy science moment
I've been working a lot of really long hours lately. It kinda sucks being in the lab at 11 pm on a Friday night, or all day on a Sunday. If I hadn't been here, though, I would have missed seeing one of the biochem profs working on an experiment with his middle-school aged daughter. How cool is that? Yay for teaching science!
