becca came home from three months in europe (huzzah and jubilation!) so i spent last night and much of today with her telling stories and catching up and trying to avoid her dog's excessive slobberiness. we slept foot-to-foot on a couch in her basement last night, and the stupid dog curled up in the middle on top of both of our pairs of feet. i ( Read more... )

i was on the overcrowded st clair bus on the way home from work today, going to my parents house to water their plants while they're away on my way home from work. rich was over here tonight, which always makes it a good day. he's ginormous. i seemed to have forgotten this until he was in my apartment making every room and object and door frame look tiny. i guess we were a pretty goofy looking couple back in the day. now we're goofy friends.

this weekend, we did summer things. we went to a pool party on saturday, and on sunday we went to the toronto island. i love going to the island in summer. the ferry over is the best -- as soon as a feel the wind on my face and the city falling away from the boat, i convince myself i'm going on a voyage somewhere exciting. we packed a picnic, ( Read more... )

mike is asleep in my bed, while i sit at the computer trying to finish a reflection/mini-essay on some readings to submit to my thesis supervisor.

sigh. i want this to go away. i had a panic attack about my thesis at 5 am last night, but i'm still not feeling motivated enough.
