So we have now spent two consecutive firework associated holidays caught up in dog drama. Thankfully, this time did not involve our own, and had a positive outcome. In hindsight it is probably the most Seattle 4th I have had.

Happy Solstice.
It also happens to be our anniversary, the third specifically. It is the fruit / flower one so we are going to the local wine shop and going to watch the sunset at Solstice park.

Anybody have reccomendations for laptop bags with an emphasis on comfort? Sherri is having back problems and i'd like to get her a new one. She is not a fan of the rolling models.

adventure race update
So my fears for the Ski-to-Sea race were largely unwarranted. My part of the race totally sucked (seriously
a mile riding down the middle of abandoned railroad track at the end of a 20 mile ride), but I finished intact. And thanks to the fact that we were already technically dq’d by the time my legstarted, there was no pressure on me to do anything ( Read more... ) -
Fear
I am sitting @ the start of the mountain bike leg of a 100 mile relay race and have an hour left to conteplate the 20 miles that are my responsibility. My days of not training and not being in the bottom third of the crowd are sadly over. failure of the will
Once a year or so, I take a hiatus from alcohol for a month. I use it as a jump start to getting healthy, since I get so many empty calories that way. This year, I planned on 5 weeks, and was going to get back on the wagon for the Kentucky Derby. And then our first nice day of the year hit on Friday, and I broke with 2 weeks to go. Throwing in the towel
I am getting rid of my skinny clothes. Keeping clothes in the hopes of one day being able to fit into them is almost universally accepted as a bad idea, yet it is so common.

I had quite the case on Saturday. The only part of the day that went remotely well was that I got to drive a big ass truck that beeped when in reverse.
