a thought upon watching "return of the jedi" for the five hundredth time...

Jan 10, 2008 01:16

...if luke skywalker can use his jedi telekinesis to levitate c-3po to fool the ewoks into thinking him a deity, why can't he use his jedi telekinesis to undo the ropes binding him to the ewok cooking spit, get back his lightsaber and show the ewoks who's boss?

and why did it take me twenty three years to figure this out?

Because this one never has his mind on where he is and what he is doing! Pay any attention to Yoda, didn't you?

I had a similar moment of revelation about Holy Grail recently, when it occurred to me what "kuhhhhhhniggit" comes from at the beginning. I laughed hysterically for a good 20 minutes at the linguistic joke and my own stupidity :)

These are good moments.

By the way...it's good to hear from ya!

lmao. I called Kris a "kanigit" the other nigit (er, night) and he said "OMG, what?" and I had to smack him for not having that ingrained in his mind...gah! lol

I guess "getting back his lightsaber and showing the ewoks who's the boss" would have been too aggreesive, too dark-sideish for a Jedi. Maybe as a last way out but as long as he could see other options (C-3P0), he couldn't go that way?

He CAN, it's just that Luke isn't very bright.
