But what is the point, I hear you ask, given that I never keep such resolutions? Well, there's always the chance that this might be the year that I do. And there are ten of them; I should be able to keep some. Maybe?

Kinda upside down. I'm on the same (eastern) side of the continent, but I'm down south and the floods are northwards. When you need to worry about me is when south-eastern Australia has bushfires. Which I'm praying it won't this year.
How was your Christmas? I survived mine, which is all I really want out of a Christmas. Even more, this year I enjoyed it! Fourth Christmas as a clergyperson and I'm starting to relax into it.

Oh good. I knew you were susceptible to bushfires, but I wasn't sure on flooding and I thought they'd said south-east on the news, but I only caught the tail of a clip on the flooding so I obviously misheard.
Hee, I don't make New Year's resolutions as such. There are things I hope to do in the new year and I guess I could call them resolutions, but I don't. Hee! I just like the idea of a fresh new year and a new start. :)
Here's one: I resolve to meet you for coffee sometime this year though, hopefully more than once. :D
Yes, hopefully 10 will help me not stress too much if I don't manage the other nine. But in the first four days of the year I haven't bought any books, I have read the Bible daily, I've been to the gym once, and I've arranged a lunch date with an old and dear friend. So I'm feeling okay. Only 360-odd days to go!
I foresee difficulty with some of those!! Particularly, the no-buying of books... \O/ It makes me want to send you some vouchers. We must have our books!
And. Well. Our chocolate.
Be good to yourself - I'd suggest that as a substitute, or perhaps #11 on the list. And I suspect all the flisties would agree that you deserve it!
Ten is to help me deal with the inevitable failure of the other nine!
I do not need more books. Looking at my shelves I have literally scores, if not hundreds, of books I've bought but haven't got round to reading. (Admittedly some are Biblical commentaries, which aren't really curl-up-with-a-cup-of-tea-and-indulge type books.) So this year I'm going to treat my own house as a bookshop/library and browse among my collection.

But the chocolate? That could be the hardest!
