Gawd, that's awful. I know my 6-yr-old has recently been on a trend of asking "What happens when we die?" ---- and of course, we have to explain that EVERYone has a different opinion (my husband and I are Christian, but my boyfriend is not) and that we can't know... It's really hard. We've had to explain to her *several* times (and to her 3-yr-old brother) that my mom and my husband's dad are "in Heaven" (whatever THAT means!) and it's really difficult. I think, though, sometimes, that at some level they are more connected with the "TRUTH" (if such exists) than we are. Sometimes, I just step back (so to speak) and ask her what SHE thinks... and find myself comforted. Interesting

Just come hug me. I need extra. Whatever you can spare... oh, and spend some time with Maddie again - she ADORES you and it's so good for her to have an uncle sorta guy in her life.
All hail beanied folk and fish-headed people who bring hugs to me, not to mention good cheer, whisky, a willingness to pub crawl and many good stories.
You are FUNny, Fishman (I dub thee Fishman)... And yes, we tremble mightily. Of course...

And all of that on top of worrying about your mom. That, I understand all too well.
Cancer does, indeed, suck.

I know Maddie would LOVE an online buddy - but she's only juuuuust starting to spell and read. So it's too early for her.
Soon perhaps... she adores having little friends wherever! :)
