You, opinionated? No way! ;) Okay, you may be opinionated, but you are *always* respectful. You always have been that way with me, and that's one reason I admire you and the way you carry yourself

I've found, too, it's hard to maintain a friendship where I don't share the same values or priorities as the other person. It's as if we're speaking different languages- when one of us talks about what we're most excited about, the other is bored by it, and vice versa. Right now, I'm dealing with this with a couple family members- I disagree with them on many things, and I have different priorities than they do, so the relationship is awkward, and not an "engaging friendship" as I wish it could be.
As for me, in friendships where we've grown apart (with different opinions or priorities), in the past I've just let them fade away- though I don't know if that's the Right Answer. I doubt it is...
"Those who have strong, unexamined/ uneducated opinions that they are unwilling to examine or change are the hardest people for me to be around!" YES. Me too.
And, the family members I have the hardest time with are my sister & my mom- two people that I ought to be "best friends" with.
Meh... I can't stand being around someone who won't even LISTEN to another side... but honestly, I enjoy a valid, mature debate about things... so I actually PREFER when people disagree with me on things... unless they're going to be childish about it; "No, you're just an idiot."...I'm sure you've met people like that...lol
