I heard this, last night, and I was ti-urd, but I think I got it right ... something Zeus said in a play, or sumpin like that ... anyhoo, it's holding some special meaning for me, depending on how this next month works out:

'Sometimes one has to go a long distance out of the way, to go a short distance correctly'

Happy Monday(s), LJ

So very very true....
Reminds me of the almost exact opposite meaning quote...
"One Small Step for Man...One Giant Leap for Man Kind"
-L. Armstrong

LOL! Yes, I saw Apollo 13 this weekend....kinda.

I've been thinking about this since you wrote it and I finally figured out what was wrong (thanks to Sierra Nevada for their lovely Porter for cognitive assistance)...

a short distance correctly bothers me... because it implies that the longer path isn't the right path to take. To me it has always seemed like the longer journey only looks shorter when you look back over the ground covered.

But I do support the sentiment!

Hey kick that cold's butt already!

I have had a house guest the last several days and he's a big beer fan so I've had pumpkin ale, SNPA and SN Porter, Paulaner Hefeweizen, and of course my staple Guinness. Yummy.
