Watson's Wonderful Life, part IV

Dec 08, 2010 16:57

“I tried to go home,” Watson panted when he got within Baker’s earshot, “but Mrs. Hudson didn’t know me, and the place was filled with-”

Oh, this was marvelous. It had me crying, at that letter, but smiling too, by the end. What a wonderful crossover!

Thank you! I'm always pleased and flattered to hear from another good fic writer. Sorry for the tears, but I'm glad if the happy ending made up for them.

Yay! I love how you combined the two stories. Poor Watson -- what a horrible experience! A world without Sherlock Holmes in it to stop Moriary is too awful to contemplate and I'm glad Watson put an end to it when he did.

Mr. Henry Baker as "Clarence" = full of win!

I'm adding this to my Memories because I'm sure I'll want to read it again. *happy sigh*

What a neat take on this! I really like how you write them and how very much in character they are. And a worrying Holmes is a very sweet thing.

Oh good, I was hoping to make Holmes a believable worrier. Thank you for taking the time to read this and offering some kind words!

It's now ridiculously past my bedtime, but I wouldn't have dreamt of going to sleep without having finished this. The entire premise was pure win... I love how you made the parallels between the movie and this story fit so seamlessly. The similarities between Potter & Moriarity made me shiver. The louts.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that this fic has made me all snuggly inside and is a very sweet thing to have red before bed :)

You know, I kind of envisioned this as a late-night story, probably because it takes place mostly at night. Anyway, I am touched by your sweet compliments and so glad you stayed up to read it. Thank you!
