Mary Morstan’s early life was lonely and drab. Her mother died when she was an infant, and her father spent most of his life stationed in India. During her formative years, Mary attended Stonyhurst Boarding School which seemed to exist only in shades of grey, from the stiff woolen uniforms and perpetually overcast skies, to the dour, unfriendly ( Read more... )

D: D: So much sadness after so much wonderful plotting! I love the idea of Mary as a slasher fan, but it breaks my heart that Watson and Holmes couldn't see her plans! This is lovely.

You're kind to say so. Rest assured that after his little three-year vacation on the Continent, Holmes returned to a "widowed" Watson and they all lived happily and colorfully ever after.

First of all, I want to say how tickled I am that your muse returned and GLORIOUSLY! I have to admit that when I saw that Mary was the focus for this I was a little uncertain (I wanted Holmes and Watson, but I got that too - that SUPER melty fireside scene was just... ngah!), but then I was sucked in (sorry, that sounds lewd now after reading all that steamy stuff) by the progression of her story ( ... )

Wow, you have no idea how much your thorough reading means to me, not to mention your enthusiasm for my new story. Like many people here, I prefer a happy ending, but sometimes it's better to leave things unresolved and angsty, as you have so gracefully shown in your own recent stories. Thanks for pushing aside your other work to read it, and I'm glad to hear you liked it. Really, really glad. :)

I was only just thinking it'd been too long since we had fic from you, then you go and post this. Guh. It tore my heart out, but I still loved this original take on Watson's marriage. Beautifully done!

Thanks awfully. :) Kind of you to miss my stories, too. It's nice to know there's still an audience for canon slash. Hullo, Watson! *waves at your avatar*
