I dropped an entire box of paper clips for the third time in the last hour, and it was taking every ounce of self restraint to not use a spell to clean them up...again. I don't know why I just couldn't focus today, but I had spent half my day on my knees behind my desk, picking up paper clips. I should just use a stapler.
I stood up, expecting to see Wyatt playing alone, and was shocked to see someone with him.
"Leo!" I exclaimed.
I laughed at my over reaction as I walked over to him.
"I mean 'Leo,' I repeated without shouting this time. "Sorry, I didn't hear you come in. Have you come for my little office helpers?"
I hadn't seen Paige when I walked in, but I figured she was off doing work and the kids were behaving, for the most part. Wyatt and I were having fun playing with trucks now as he made truck noises and made them crash. Where did he pick that up from? I specifically told Piper not to let him watch things like that on TV; his brain is so innocent right now and needs the proper nurturing
( ... )
"Yeah, well, you know I love the boys. But I am looking forward to some more grown up company. I want to talk about something other than trucks and choo choos."
I perched on the edge of my desk, picked up a lollipop, unwrapped it, and popped it in my mouth.
"Glad to hear everything went well. The boys have been little angels. And magic school is magic school. You know what it's like. Spells gone awry, frogs loose in the girls' bathroom. Nothing too eventful."
I watched as she opened the lollipop and ate it, Paige will be Paige.
"You're going to rott your teeth out." I tease, tossing Wyatt up into the air and catching him. "How's my buddy doing today." I say tossing him again.
"Candy is bad for you if you eat a lot, it makes your teeth fall out of your head." I say to him.
I look at Paige with a wink.
"Piper and I really appreciate you looking over the boys." I say with a bigger smile, I was so grateful. "I know that we take you gor granted sometimes, and I apologize. I just wanted you to know that we really do appreciate it."
