today (technically yesterday) it finally started to feel like christmas. i guess it was more like last night, even. last night, i sang many christmas carols and chanukah songs to myself, played virtual dreidel online, and made latkes and applesauce for my family, both from scratch! the smell and the taste of ( Read more... )

Hi Maya! Great entry and great fun to read, even if I had heard about a lot of the doin's from you already. I do believe that you have never, ever slept past 6:30 or 7 am on a Christmas morning, and even 7 is sleeping late for you on that day! In the years I tried to convince you to sleep later, you refused, and made me get up way too early too. Yummy meals, yummy? fruitcake, and yummy chocolate (even if it didn't have booze in it or look like an ambulance). I love you always, Mom

yeah, for Earthan (and el gatos) and me it was pretty different-- our first time without you on Cssmss morn, but we had our own good time anyway, though mayaless. The couch totally belonged to the catnip crowd and new kitty collars (Sadie got another skull and crossbones), with just minimal stuff for E and me. (new Waits, 1st season of SNL, Dante's Divine Comedy, tangerines, comix, lotsa sleepy gigglink).

This was a great slice of your life en Ecuador!! so descriptive (the sweet bread scene maybe a little too descriptive). Happy summer and full moon and big dipper to you, my sweet lil ambassador. i love you!
