Today I went out an did a 2-mile run to the Petaluma High School track, and then did 4 Gentle Pickups (GPs) and then 4 1m30s Aerobic Intervals (AIs). And then ran the two miles home... was a fairly good day. Doing some speedwork to up my pace...

Tuesday I set out on a simple 2 mile run as I was supposed to. Got about a mile and a half through, and had to walk the rest of the way. Saturday's workout kicked my butt so many ways, my hamstrings just locked up tight. Walking was rather awkward, not to mention I had to stand at work for hours at a time. Today was my last session with my trainer that I have been using since I joined 24 Hour Fitness to start up on this goal in January... she is the best trainer ever :) We went out to the track and we did 4-5 Gentle Pickups on the track. Well - today I kicked it up a notch. I did a 3 mile run and then ended up at the Petaluma High School track again, where I did some Gentle Pickups (GPs). These are where you gradually pick up your pace up to nearly all-out over 90 meters to about 90% of all out, hold it for 10 meters and then gradually slow down and walk to full recovery. Well - I started my training schedule today with a simple 2 mile run, then some aerobic intervals (AIs) on the track at Petaluma High School, and then the nearly 2-mile long run home... first day back on my feet running in a while... it felt good.
