Suddenly, I am scared.

I am scared to go somewhere where I will know no one.
I am scared to leave you.

I know I am going to the perfect place for me.
I know I am going to meet amazing people.
I know that everything will turn out to be ok.

But right now I am just scared.

Sarah, you are one of the strongest people I know. I know you are more than capable of living in New York and making plenty of friends, and that you will have a blast doing it. Sarah, I would not worry too much. God is good, and he will provide the people you need to turn to when you feel afraid. But don't be afraid, b/c you are freaking smart and talented and are able to get into an amazing school.

So, there I was, Freshman orientation in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. My roomate at my temporary dorm had gone to some beach party they were throwing for the incomisng freshmen. I was sitting in the rrom and the fear just washed over me and I was terrified and more lonely than I'd ever felt before in my entire life. I cried a little. I wrote a song.

The first week of classes I was in a dorm room with one person I'd only met once before and two others who I'd just met watching scary movies. A couple nights later I went out to the movies and a party with four guys who'd been complete strangers a week or two before. By the end of my first year I was eating lunch and dinner with "my corwd." None of them did I know when I started at Alabama.

Point is: this fear? It's

Hugs! If you wanna talk, call me-you know where.

Sarah, you will be fine in NY...in fact, you will be more than fine. You are so strong and so lovable. People will find themselves lucky to be your friend. I admire what you are doing more than you know. I would never have the guts to go that far away from my friends and family, but I know you will do great. God is always with you and He wouldn't have given you this chance if He didn't know you could handle it. And, remember we will never be more than a phone call away.

Love you,
Jennifer
