"Maybe if the Bush cabal thought there was oil on Mars..."

I much recommend today's post:

Instead of sending humans to Mars 11 times, the USA sent them on a Mission to Iraq
- Burton MacKenzie

It's a short and interesting read.

As big a fan as I am of space, I think this blog post is a little more pertinent to today's world.

Mars aside, just think of all the other things that could have been accomplished with all that money. It's sickening.

Totally. Another one of my weird, non-disclosed beliefs is being rather anti-space exploration. I can think of way too many needs here on earth I'd rather see cared for than I would sending some astronaut to Mars. But that's just me.

I can also think of so many things *I* could have done with part of that money if it wasn't forcibly taken from me. =/

Friends, it would be nice to work to solve all the worlds’ problems. But if we are going to try to do it -- someone is going to have to pay for it; and it looks like we would be stuck with the bill. You cannot do it without tax riots.

Yes, there are allot of situations around that need more help than we are giving right now, but we can't do everything. It would be nice. But, oh well.

We also have to remember the reality of this world. There are ALLOT of people in the rest of the world who will very gladly kill YOU and be called a hero simply because you were an "American."
