Shattered images flitted through his mind. Someone with furry dark eyebrows clapping him on the shoulder; the clatter of silverware; laughter bouncing off glass doors; a map of moonlight on still water; smooth, cool tiles beneath his bare feet; his reflection smiling back at him from a mirror . . .
I loved the images dancing in my head with this passage.
No matter how long the update takes, I'm sure it will be worth it.
