I think the difficulty in writing always-a-girl!Kirk is making sure she sounds like Jim but doesn't sound like a dude with tits. I think you did an exceptional job at finding that balance as this is definitely one of the best girl!Kirks I've ever read. Bravo!

I'm always ambivalent about girl!Jim, and het sex...I am proud to report that this story has singlehandedly changed my mind. The characterization is so perfect, Jim is just JIM whether he's a man, or a woman, he is so instantly recognizable as is his interaction with Bones, that it completely makes me overlook the het! girl!kirk factor, because all i see is Jim n' Bones, the way it should be. And bones... holy fuck Bones is so ridiculously sexy in this i can barely stand it. wonderful job, and instant fave.
