See, I like Ron. He's not perfect. Neither is Harry. Both have reasons for feeling the way that they do about something, and they just handle it differently. Harry never asked to be famous, yet he is, he's Dumbledore's favorite, and also recieved two of the best broomsticks as gifts. I don't see how he's that much different from Ron, who gets good things "without earning them."
Harry first identified with Ron because they were both poor (even though Harry recognized that he had an inheritance). Sure, Ron is a bit lazy now, but I think he's starting to understand that he has to work.
I had good points to bring up, but lunch sounds better at the moment. ^_~
Harry and Ron both treated Parvati and Padma poorly.
I'm not trying to debate or anything. Sorry if I came off that way.
I know Harry deserves to have good things to happen to him and stuff- I LOVE Harry. I just think he gets a lot just because of who he is. Yes, I know he feels pride in earning what he has (in regards to your example of the Quidditch matches, he's actually GOOD at something! Who knew?? etc...)
But maybe Ron deserves a little bit, too. Yes, he should earn what he wants. I just think he should get a little credit, too.
If you haven't already done the mood icons, I have a set uploaded, but I'm too lazy to link them all ^__~ You're more than welcome to them- http://pics.livejournal.com/blackdeathdenia. Not entirely sure who I got them from, but they're P&P, and I think they're pretty cute.
Wow! Those are awesome! I haven't actually looked at the pics I have, but I can't imagine there are too many P&P mood themes floating around. Thanks for the offer! I might take you up on it.
And ITA on the Ron stuff. I think a lot of it is immaturaty right now, but you're right, he doesn't have much time to grow out of it and with the way the books are going? If he doesn't grow out of it soon it'll become a *big* problem, in my opinion.
