Today somehow we were left with Dad's brand new Chevy Silverado and nothing to do. So we went shopping. We headed to Hopkins to a little Dutch store we found in the phone book and we stocked up on Speculaas and Stroopwaffles. Slept in this morning and farted around the house a little. Then we headed into Maple Grove to scope out where we were meeting friends later that evening and to check out the new town center. Went to the fancy schmancy carpeted grocery store to look for hummus and cold medicine and was oddly suprised by the lack of cold medicine available. ( Read more... )

You may find me later laying in the gutter not knowing my name surrounded by stroopwaffle wrappers in what I am calling the "Stroopwaffle Haze". We finally made a trip to Trader Joes for "vacation food" and found the mini version neatly packaged in a bag containing approximately 25 bite sized cookies. Ahhh, the glory of it all. So we picked up Beau around 2:45pm Saturday afternoon and to our surprise, he was in a little wooden box. We were honestly expecting cardboard so the urn/box search is off for the time being. I recieved a call last night from Dr. O'Leary (Our Vet) to see how the family was doing.  You could tell that she was still as broken up about Beau as we are and seemed to need to talk about it.  Apparently, after we left the vet's office all the staff that supports Dr. O'Leary went in the back and had a good cry.  She felt bad for the rest of the ( Read more... )

This week has been a crapper! We have had 3 deaths that have shook the office a bit. 1 was a co-worker that had been battling brain cancer for nearly a year. He 'retired' a couple of months ago and apparently entered a nursing home shortly there after. Very sad, but he has got to be in a better place. At least there is no more pain.
