Yesterday we received a call from the furniture store we bought our new couch from. It's on back order. BASTARDS. Apparently all the stores in the area work off the same inventory at their warehouse and it is not automatically reconciled. They had some in stock when we bought it (which is why we bought it) and if we have picked it up that day ( Read more... )

wow, that's really damned annoying. I would expect them to put one aside for me (figuratively, obviously. Not like, shoving a couch under the counter until delivery day) if I had paid for it and arranged delivery already. sucks.

I agree. Once it is paid for, it should stay put until delivery day! Got a call from them last night about an update as to when it will arrive. The guy said he was from "will call" which implys to me that he thinks I am coming to get it.

Went back to Ikea last night and was pleasantly suprised when they had everthing we wanted/needed and arranged for Sat. delivery. I LOVE IKEA!
