*small chuckle* Paige reminds me of myself when I was much younger. I can't tell you how many arguments I had with Koumyou, who insisted that simple things such as learning to rake leaves and serve tea properly would do as much to strengthen me as my martial arts training would.

*smiles* What finally convinced you that he was right? Or are you still not convinced?

*smiles* Koumyou was an exceedingly patient man, and I soon found that I hated nothing more than knowing he was disappointed in me. But then, like I said, I was much younger than Paige. That sort of thing is probably much more impressionable on a young boy of 8 than on a young woman in her twenties. ~_^

Yeah, I can't see Paige being terribly motivated by my disappointment in her. Hitting the local clubs and showing the boss's son a good time seem to be more important to her than studying the book I gave her. I'm not saying that she should give up her social life entirely, but her craft is important, too.

Man, that's tough. I hope she comes around soon, Piper.

I hope so too. Thanks, Jou.

No time like the present. Do you want to talk on here, or should I give you a call, or would you rather talk in person?

Good luck with Paige. She sounds very strong-willed. But, it takes much more than muscle to fight. In fact, the best warriors are those who raise their blade as a last resort, and not the first. Seriously. If she wants an example, look at the ninja. They are superior fighters, but whenever they can, they use their minds and their cunning to incapacitate their enemies. After all, when you're going at someone in a fight, there's a good chance that you, too, can be hurt.

I just hope she learns that before she learns the hard way. -_-;

[Private to Piper]

I don't blame you for not trusting Cole. His actions as of late, running from helping you to hurting you, certainly haven't garnered him any implicit trust, have they?

**soft smile** The training isn't a bad idea, though. I'm not saying from him, but it couldn't hurt. Especially if the Source is as strong as you described!

Thanks, Hakkai. I definitely agree with you, and I hope that I can get Paige to see the light, as it were. But you're right, she is very strong-willed and she seems to think that I'm the Wicked Witch of the West, while she almost idolizes Phoebe. I don't get it.

[Private to Hakkai]

Well, Cole's actions certainly haven't garnered any trust from me. Phoebe seems to think that he can do no wrong, and Paige likes him well enough.

Very true. I certainly don't want to train with Cole, but I was thinking... maybe you could train me? I mean, obviously you don't have to if you don't want to, and I don't want you to feel obligated or anything like that. It was just an idea.

Well, you're the oldest, and therefore the one who's the most 'adult'. Of course she's going to think you're evil incarnate. ~_^ (I'm sure she'll come around with time. ♥)

[Private to Piper]

**chuckles** Well, that's what I was sort of hinting at without coming right out and asking if that's what you'd like. I'm sure I could get you up to speed fairly quickly. And I don't mind coming to you - especially since you say you've got all the equipment already. Just let me know how frequently you'd like to do this, and when you'd like to get started, and I'll make the necessary arrangements. ^_^

I hope so.

[Private to Hakkai]

*smiles* Well, you know, I didn't want to assume... Are you sure you don't mind coming here? I don't want it to be an inconvenience to you, and I can just as easily come to Chang'an.

Does twice a week sound alright? And I'd like to get started soon, if that's alright with you. Maybe on Monday?
