good news

On this auspicious day (ding, dong, the 8-year reign of idiocy is over), I am very pleased to report that the blood tests and ultrasounds came out perfectly normal, so much so that no amnio is needed after all (insert big sigh of relief), and...it's a boy! Thanks very much! Me, too, it's nice not to have to worry about that, even if statistically it's supposed to be pretty darn safe. This kid is already a statistical rarity, so I'm not sure that statistics are much use in this situation... ;>

C says that luckily for me, she is quite fond of the men in my family ;> There's a part of me that's a little wistful about not having the experience of raising a daughter (unless we adopt, I suppose), but raising F has been such an amazing and wonderful experience, and I am thrilled that he's going to have a brother and a sibling, something neither C nor I experienced.

Heh -- you may be right, on both counts.

Also, I can't help noticing that Roth's little girl will be almost our boy's age. Now *there's* a scary thought. I also have visions of Roth coming to track down my son for compromising his daughter's virtue....(or vice versa, after all, she'll be the older, more experienced woman ;>)
