Title: Textually Yours Fandom: Supernatural Pairing: Dean/Castiel Category: Pre-slash Length: ~580 words Rating: mild R Notes: Thank you to Grrrl for the read through. Summary: Cas has learned to text.
See, this is so perfect because all thse things are true in canon - the archangels, the rock 'n roll, Cas the virgin... I swear, the thing I love best about SPN is that things fanwrites usually have to make up - the boys reading slash about themselves on the internet, the single crystal tear - all these things are canon!
... oh wait. Cas isn't texting xoxoxo on the show? Well, he totally should be. (And yes, the next scene in this would be a thing of beauty.)

I wouldn't be surprised if he did. Dean would get all, "Cas, we have to talk about this."
"It's a sign of affection."
"Well, you can't have that kind of affection for me."
"What kind?"
"The kind that includes sex."
"Who said anything about sex?"
"Never mind."
I'd love to write the next scene, but it just wouldn't come. They're driving to meet up with Cas, but every time I tried to write them arriving, it sucked. I finally concluded this was where the story wanted to end.
I totally agree with you about the show's canon. It's so much fun, when they don't write fictional Supernatural cons and drop an anvil on my embarrassment squick in the process.
"If Cas was a woman would you just be friends?" Sam asked.
I've never read a fic where Dean got asked this question before. At least, not one that wasn't genderswitch. I love that you made him address that, and even more than that I love his reaction. This fic deserves a gold star. No, screw that, you can have ALL the gold stars. Your Kiss Bingo fics have made me smile so hard this week :D
If Cas was a woman, at least a pretty woman, Dean would totally have hit on him. I like the idea of Dean being challenged about that and forced to think about what the differences really are.

And Cas is fun, as long as your idea of fun is trapping archangels in a ring of holy fire. Which Dean's is.
They're so perfect. I'd love to see the rest of this. ;)

Finally, I gave up and decided this was all the story there was.

Dean is good with thinking (but i don't blame him - he has so much on his plate, that acting out on any thoughts is probably too much for him...)
this was very, very sweet! I like Sam so much and you got him perfectly here!
