happens to me occasionally, but i think it's more sleep-apnea that isn't induced by the chemicals i do in my situation. the only time i've heard about people having a lot of problems with anything like that, apnea or suddenly having trouble breathing during sleep are opium users. ...so. basically my comment is no help to you at all, i just feel like typing. haha. keep an eye on it though. i always have a tendency to think that EVERY THING that happens to me is involved with the drugs i do somehow. even though the majority of things possibly are, it's always good to be aware that it might be something else. if it keeps happening, you should seek medical advice about it at a sleep clinic or see a GP.

well, it sounds like she could have sleep apnea so your comment isn't useless!

op: i'd suggest looking up the causes for sleep apnea and see if any of them match up to you

if you're accustumed to drinking to control panic/anxiety and induce sleep removing it can create withdrawl symptoms which is the same as removing a benzo suddenly from the body, your anxiety is heightened. Actually benzos opperate very similarily to alcohol.

I hope this helps.

usually if its not too big a problem in a few days you should find yourself relaxing more. Have you talked to your doctor about a safer sleep subsitute? i find trazadone a bit more effective personally.

sleep apnea, maybe? do you have a head cold or anything?

the ceasing drinking after drinking heavily mayyyyyyy be part of it, if you are having withdral seizures or partial seizures.

Could well be alcohol withdrawal. Not sure how regularly you were using it for? Everyone is different though, obviously. And even small amounts used regularly could cause withdrawal effects in some people when stopped. Often it's experienced like anxiety - racey heart, sweating, shaking etc. I'm not sure about the shortness but sounds like it's part of the same package. And it may well not be physical withdrawal but some kind of psychological withdrawal? If you were using it to sleep then I'm guessing there was some kind of insomnia there in the first place for some reason.. Just speculating, don't know! Have you been checked out physically by a doctor though? Seems important to do that.
