Sleeping Pills

Feb 08, 2009 17:30

Anyone got any information on potential highs with OTC sleeping pills? Preferably with what to avoid chemical wise and what to look for. This isn't for me, so I really don't want to give someone else bad advice ( Read more... )

Most, if not all OTC sleeping pills are Diphenhydramine HCl, which is simply benedryl.

and, imo, Diphenhydramine is bad news. it's a helpful chemical when it's used properly for ailments that it can help with occasionally, but HOLY GOD, other than that..stay away from the crap.

I'm really not sure about OTC sleeping pills, but I don't think they have much abuse potential. I know Benadryl helps some people sleep and can be abused, but other than that, I don't think they're much fun ( ... )

my friend's poem:

robutussin robutussin
put it down like it was nothin'
all for the love of a drug
called robutussin

it's a good high if it doesn't make you sick and you are EXTREMELY desperate-but make sure you stick the the name brand.

I know about DXM.
England's best is Vicks 44 Cough Relief. 30mg pure DXM with nothing else to make you sick. 8)

Man, I used to abuse DXM all the fucking time when I was 13. Then I just got tired of that shit. Gets old, you know?

Ambien is incredible - if you fight it, try to stay awake and stay in your bedroom - you trip - BIG TIME. I **LOVE** it and oftimes will journal what I see & experience. The records I make of those trips are really interesting to read the next day. Kind of like "drunk dialing" to yourself but in an otherworldly way.

Enjoy and be safe.

I've had the same experience with Ambien. If you fight hard to stay awake, it's pretty cool.

they don't all suck, i have found that some days for me a high dose of benzos is very similar to the feel of IV morphine, relaxing and warm. You get feeling of complete mellow.

however you're completely fucking useless as walking is hard and you don't make much sense to anyone.

whatever you do, don't do the recreational benzo route, there was a recent post about that....if you get hooked it doesn't end well...trust me on that plus for those of us that NEED the script, well i'd be pretty fucking pissed if i could no longer get my meds because of higher government regulation.

Yeah I read up on the thread, all has been explained and I have done my best to assure my friend all the information I know to be reliable. But as far as I go, I am purely pro-choice on everything, so I wouldn't stop her.

You can't stop someone from trying anything, its totally their life, all you can do is give the info and let them be.

Information is key tho, nothing worse than someone completely uninformed messing with doses and chemicals potentially interacting badly unless they're LOOKING to wind up in the ER

I hate when people do the recreational speed route by pretending to have ADHD, because it just makes the rest of us who actually do have ADHD seem like we're all just faking it.

And I hear you about needing benzos. I'm only on K-pins, but without them, I'm a wreck. Even with them, I'm a wreck, just less so.
