When real life never got in the way of more important things such as philosophy, poetry, and theology, and reality was little more than a thin veil of mist that occasionally ruined a good high.

While those days are fondly remembered, I wouldn't trade the sounds of reality, echoing as the sweet laughter from my precious son, for all the poetry in the world.

You make a very good point. I wouldn't trade my goddaughter for the world either. But I can't help but miss how simple things seemed back then. Of course, if someone had told me we had it easy back (as a lot of adults were prone to do) then I would have laughed my ass off and told them they didn't have the slightest clue.

Your right. All the fleeting moments we tried so hard to hang on to; the agonizing decisions over which drug of choice we would succumb to, and the real life drama that can only be found amoung the young... precious and fleeting and more simple now than I ever realized then.

Happy New Year arkhady January 8 2006, 07:48:29 UTC
Hello Sweet Soul;
I pray this year has found you and yours with laughing faces and hearts filled with happiness. I look forward to reading your next entry as it sounds very interesting. I have been absent for awhile as it has been very busy lately. Too many things are going on to fast... (ha ha) that is the way of life though I think. I desired nothing else than to say Happy New Year.
Until next time, may peace be your breath and joy your song as you travel the path of light and love; Don
