Circumstances are far more important in teaching than some people give them credit for being. I know that my ability to teach is impaired when my students can't (or won't) buy the assigned books, the room has no AV equipment, the students have no easy access to computers or printers, and the entire school fails to encourage academia at any level.

Syracuse kills dreams. That's just how it is.
