i'm seriously considering deleting my facebook account. i never really wanted it in the first place--the girls at the studio set it up for me because they wanted to be able to stay in touch when we all went our separate ways. not that i don't want to stay in touch with them (and all the other people on there). but

I guess I'm content to see FB activity from some of my friends who don't LJ anymore (or at least not as much as they used to). I realize that they're all having jobs and babies and giving up computer time, and for many of them, an occasional FB post is as much as I'm going to see, so I should be glad to have that rather than nothing.
Also, you're not obligated to comment on everything someone Facebooks.
If you think Facebook is scary, check out Twitter, where all conversation is limited to 140-character posts. It's an all-out assault on complex thinking.

You So Rock :)
your thoughts are Good, as always, and i Appreciate your sharing them. you and cordell are both right--fb is simply what it is and essentially i need to work on recognizing that and act accordingly. i guess the major piece i struggle with is being in a situation where my only prolonged contact anymore with My People there is online, and for the most part in facebook. and its hard to make it work the way i wish it could. in fact that is Impossible--no matter how i look at it or try to engage with it, it will always fall short and it will never be enough.
the bottom line to all of it is i Miss My Friends. i Miss the way things used to be. and no amount of railing against facebook, or whatever else i try to make the problem will change any of that. and in fact, there is no way to "change" that because life progresses and circumstances and people change and you can never go "back" to the way something was. i just Hate it.
Much Love to You.
