As you all know, I've been pretty whiny about Napa, ever since I moved here, basically. And no one was as surprised as I was when I decided to stay, after breaking off with junorhane. This was because I found, in rapid succession, an amazing job, and a fabulous apt. Also, there was a special man in my life, who became even more special when I had my own ( Read more... )

We'll see. My former boss and my landlord are in cahoots to get me to stay, but I'm not hopeful.

Aww, I'm sorry. It sucks that bad things come in threes.

I'd love it if you could visit here for a week or two, but this is not an affordable town to live in without at least a halfway decent job and roommates. One of my roommates is leaving, but not until August.

Well, if you have any desire to move to St Louis I'd love to have you :). But good luck all the same. <3

I wish it hadn't come to this for you, but I understand why you feel this way about Napa. I do just about the same thing every time I move away from here, actually. I always think I'm going to be able to be okay with making a life for myself that doesn't include my closest friends, because there's a shiny opportunity for love or work or family, and it's never worked. I'm constantly wishing I was with my friends again every time I've left this town, and as soon as the reason I left disappears, I'm on the first bus back here.

You, however, don't actually have to travel all that far to leave your bad situation! There's a lot of superior options to Napa just within an hour's drive of it - there's a lot of variety among the towns in the Bay Area. I won't be surprised if you do give the whole state the finger, though. Crushed, yes, absolutely... but not surprised. So, I'll make the most of our time together as if you were moving across the country, but will work on building the future as if you were staying close to me.
