Treasure Hunt
I decided to try the Shop Rome First competition this year. There are 43 questions at 43 different stores and businesses in Rome. While Rome is a small city, with about 33,000 inhabitants, it has been around since the American Revolution and the heyday of the Erie Canal. And I've been in Rome since 1954. I thought I knew about most places in Rome.

Coppertree Cook's Collegium
We had a great little event in my Shire of Coppertree this weekend. The Cook's Collegium gave people opportunities to cook, to take classes, to taste wonderful food, and to socialize with each other. New York State is still a big mess

Back to "normal"
It's been a while since I posted. Just wanted you to know that I survived the two eye surgeries and the tooth extraction, and am back to work.
It is good to be busy at work again finding answers for people. But I am sorry that I missed seeing my friends at Pennsic.
Not sorry that I missed the heat, though. Maybe next year will be better.

Unpleasantness
One of the hazards of living into one's sixties is the continuing failure of one's body parts. Usually I avoid mentioning these issues since everybody gets older and who wants to think about that stuff? But to explain my absence from SCA affairs, I will say that I have had to have eye surgery once and now again, and I need another root canal ( Read more... ) -
Home from eye surgery
It's been an interesting day, and my left retina is supposedly tacked back into place. The doctor said the surgery was successful. I will see him again tomorrow for a recheck ( Read more... ) -
Doctor, my eyes...
I have a torn retina which has left me mostly unable to see out of my left eye. Tomorrow I will have surgery that will, I hope, correct most of this. Wish me luck.
