All my bruises've healed. This is, what, first time in...I don't even know how many years. I'm so used to half-healed cuts and scrapes and massive bruises all over my body that it's just weird to stand in the shower and realize that I'm not beat up at all.

Kinda an uneasy feeling.

Least I've got the cast to prove I'm not a total pansy!

No one thought you were a pansy.

Well I didn't mean that, exactly. Um...just...it's first time in forever I've taken a look at my ribs and actually been able to see them and not the bruises?

...I think that means I'm too thin, too. What is WRONG with the world?

What? You've lost weight with so many women bringing you food?

Well, I'm less skinny than I was before Hana moved in. But I sure lost weight this last week, and it hasn't been that much food.

Plus I have the metabolism of a galloping horse, according to my mom. Which I guess explains why me and alcohol don't mix so good.

...Wouldn't that be a good thing, though...?

I dunno. It's like...I'm used to being all beat up and bruised and stuff. It's normal for me. So I heal up and don't get anymore, and I feel like I'm not pushing myself hard enough.

Which I'm not. So.

I don't really understand. Wouldn't you perform better if you aren't injured?

Well, yeah. But you never get through practice without collecting some bruises just from being tackled and tackling the other guy and stuff. Not usually anything big, you don't notice it unless somebody hits you there later and then it just makes you madder and you hit 'im back. So it works.

I'm glad you're feeling better, although some people might take your second sentence the wrong way.*sigh* Maybe I should make a "Perverts Crossing" sign. It'd all be for your sake, after all.

I'm sorry I missed the cast signing though. That would have been fun.

...My second sentence?

...I'm confused.

There wasn't much of one. Still plenty of space if you wanna sign.

I think she means you like getting beat up. It's a kinky sex thing.

chicksdigdogs March 17 2006, 07:14:46 UTC
Well there's an adrenaline and endorphin rush, sure, but if there's a sex part in it I've sure been missing out on that.

Why is it that to be a man one must be in some way damaged?

My English teacher in high school was always going on about the Limping Hero. Maybe it's something like that?

Maybe we just like the feeling of having fought for something.

I rather think it's something to do with the large portion of the brain that, compared to women, men don't actually use.

What part'd that be?

I could punch you on the shoulder, if you'd like.

Although that would take a bit of energy...

I don't think you'd be up to the rough-housing that'd follow.

I've only just recently healed from my last tiff, so no, I don't think I would.

That means I win by default. Hah!
