So I got an email from Coach this morning asking me to meet him when I got through with classes. It's okay that you were late, there's still plenty.

Are you unhappy being off forward lock, or is it an okay change? I know that the game means a lot to you.

Y'know, honest, I think it's gonna be better this way. Dunno if you remember, but I actually started playing winger--just moved to lock my senior year 'cause we didn't have anybody else who could do a good job, so that's what I was playing when they recruited me. I reckon I did a pretty good job as lock, but Coach's right; I'm small (bad for a forward) and I'm fast (good for a back) and if I can get my handling skills back up to par this summer, I'm betting I could give any guy in the region a good run for his money.

I'm working on one-handed catches now, if you're worried about the thumping or anything.

Well, I'm good, as long as you're happy. If you want, I could throw the ball for you. I'm not too great at it but I'll help you practice.

Sure, that'd be cool. You don't need to be good, really--just kinda toss it, and I gotta catch it with either hand while running.

...Might be kinda late for it, though. Pretty sure the neighbors are gonna get pissed.

Dude, you're not nearly as glad as I am. Thought for a while there I was gonna get kicked and lose my scholarship and have to run off with Akamaru for the Northwest Territories.

Six inches is quite a size difference. I'm sure you'll do well in either position, though.

Yeah, I've always been shorter than the other forwards I've played against. And the guys on my team, come to think of it. I play hard and I jump high though, so I can do my job...but really I think this is gonna be a good move for me.

Y'know what the worst thing you can say to a rugby ref is? "You're calling this game like it's SOCCER!"

Woot! Glad it worked out okay.

Mmm, went okay. Part was essay so I won't get the results back till next week, but I pulled a B on the multiple choice!
