I asked my resident if, outside of work, he found himself analyzing himself, the people around him, his wife. He said that when he leaves the hospital, his brain shuts off. JESUS CHRIST. I seriously wish I could turn my brain off. I've been analyzing everything and everyone since I began this clerkship. My conclusion: I am FN.

I am one week into my psych rotation. My parents (psychologist and psychiatrist respectively) are, on the whole, much more excited about my placement on the inpatient ward than I am.
