an excellent list. but i vote striking "myriad" -- my students overuse it, to death.

Good to know! But now that I think about it, I know some people who overuse "myriad" and it does get annoying.

My friend Jeff HATES the word "acquiesce", which I have on the list... I love it! It's probably in my top 20, although it's no "apropos".
