"...and I will give you all my heart if you say you'll be my sweet lady"

I'm looking for a new apartment. The one I have now is awesome, but the rent is getting a tad too much for what it's worth. I've been wanting to look for places in (rent-controlled) West L.A., but I just came across these (Little Tokyo Lofts) earlier today and creamed myself. They're near downtown LA, which is pretty far away, but they're gorgeous ( Read more... )

Those lofts are amazing...wish we had good stuff like that in Madison. If we do, I would expect the rent to be unbelievable since people like to take advantage of the college students here.

How much would a place like that cost?

They start at $1,295/month. Less than what I'm paying now. My apartment now is pretty sweet.. but these places were made for me.. and I pay more here.

And you're going to live on your own?! I'm lucky I can afford MY rent, and that's $358 a month...

I suppose the cost of living is a lot higher out there. But wow...that's still a lot of money.

well I'm considering moving in with my friend. I'll save a lot of money, but I hate having roommates.

Oh okay.. 1200... I was looking around the site and it said 6000 something.. ookay. You have fun living in your apartments.

The one you live in, you always talk about "going downstairs".. do you live in a townhome by yourself right now? For 1,000 bucks a month? How do you afford everything?

Ok genius.. you were looking at the second link.. at the one I was talking about moving to, rent starts at $1295 per month, that's $200 cheaper than my rent where I live now.

It's not a townhouse.. It's a one bedroom loft.. there are stairs that lead to the bedroom and the bedroom looks over the rest of the apartment.. I'll take pictures of my place when I get around to it.

Holy crap! How can you afford such places (including where you live now)? Are you a billionaire or something?

Well, regardless, cheers to you getting a place you like. Fucking go for it!

Eh. I don't pay that much compared to nice places in westwood and in those nice apartment buildings in the Crescent Heights area..

Thanks man, I'll try. Downtown LA is a bit far from the areas of LA that I prefer and I couldn't leave my house before 7pm because the traffic will be a killer.. most likely I'll end up moving more near you.
