Yeah, I won't be going to Baku this year either. . . When I found out that the AA sign-ups had been filled up in April with no good notice. . . *sigh* And I've been having trouble with them for a couple of years anyway. I loved my little backyard convention (especially when I lived in Burlington), but, well. . . You know?
But we have Another Anime Con! I'm really excited about this! It's my first time there. Have you been before? They seem nice enough at first glance.
And I really need to look into Connecticon for next year. Jo (majic) says it's fun, what do you say?
Yea, Baku told us that they could put us on the waitlist and they thought a space may open up in a few weeks... Not enough for us, I'm afraid.
AAC has been very good to us. And Don who runs AA this year (and last year I think) is fantastic in my dealings with him. I'm very impressed.
Connecticon is a lot of fun. They have a tendancy to be a highly disorganized convention - so you have to stay on top of them - but the con itself has always been fun.
Heh, at least you got a response from the new Baku AA coordinator. I emailed Nikki first, because I didn't think that she wouldn't be doing it again, and she was quite upset... Said she had still been getting emails from the sign up page even though she wasn't in charge. She gave me the right person's email, and I asked to be on the waiting list... But I never heard back.
The same day I got a response from Nikki, Adam thought about AAC, so we looked it up. It just happened to be the day that AA sign-ups went live! And Lo! We have a table! I was really impressed with Don's response time! Now we wait for the information to make payment! I'm pleased with this change of events.
I guess if we want to do Baku again next year, we should start looking at the forums (there was an actual artist alley/dealer's room subforum, i don't remember there ever being one before!) in January! :-) (i still think they should have announced it on the front page, like everyone else!) /rant
