Li and I were introduced to Steampunk by our cousins a little over a year ago. Naturally being drawn to things Victorian and things Pirate, the aestetic immediately resonated with us. So my trainer says Levi is now very bonded to me. And he seems to be very highly trainable. She says its normal for a dog who was bounced around and finally finds his permanent home as an adult to be very eager to please - which he definately is, but he is also just very trainable on top of that. So close. We're so close to having Sasha come snuggle on the sofa while Levi is at my feet. She's spent the evening downstairs (the night started with Levi in his den, and she knows its safe when he is tucked away) but she stayed downstairs when I let the doggie out. As I type this, Sasha is sleeping in the plant stand in the window behind the sofa... And Levi is laying down on the floor beside the sofa (long end from where the kitty is). So I met with a dog trainer yesterday. Of course everything I know is wrong (naturally since every trainer has their own ideas about what proper methods are). My trainer is older than I'd predicted but all that matters is that she helps me get Levi under control and settled into my life ( Read more... )

So he chewed through his leash (he's been wearing it all the time, in the house etc while we do the basic training). And so I tied it in a knot and kept using it. Until last night.
