I feel the same way about Fifi's, kinda. At the U-cup I don't feel awkward if I take my time and read the paper by myself or anything, but sometimes at Fifi's I feel like it's all about appearances. I like their coffee, though, and I like that I can scribble on the tables, so until I can build myself up as an un-hip fixture in the downtown coffee house scene (pretty much limited to Fifi's, eh?), I'll just have to deal with the awkwardness I feel.
