For the next few months it appears I will be working in DC during the week.  I have no idea how I am managing this nor how I"ll handle being so far from my kids but it's what I have to do.

Why isn't the employer paying your travel?

They want me to relocate permanently for a three month assignment because it is a week over their three month cut off.

They are paying for my ticket there, but they have a national allocation of 175 a day for expenses and I was pointed to a 439 a day hotel in DC.

Thank god for friends down there. I'll figure out longer term details after I get down there this week.

Are they paying for an apartment there for you? They should be when the temp. relocation is more than a reasonable commute.

That's what I'm working on trying to obtain now. We'll see how it works out.
